Who we are
This website and the keepsakes it sells are run by Matchday Stubs, a small business in the UK. For anything about your details, email us at hello@matchdaystubs.co.uk and a real person will reply.
What we keep and why
When you order
Your name, email address and delivery address (and a phone number if the courier needs one for your country), plus everything you put on your keepsake: the match, the names and any photo you upload. We use these to make your order, post it to you and keep you updated by email. Without them we can't fulfil the order.
Paying
Payments are taken by Stripe on their own secure page. We never see or store your card details.
Emails
We email you about your order: the confirmation, when it's on its way, and for Reserve & Remember orders the reminders around the match. If you join our list for the discount code, or don't tick the box at checkout to say no, we'll also send you the occasional email about new keepsakes. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and once you've said no we never add you back.
Messages
If you use the contact form or email us, we keep what you send so we can help you.
How you found us
If you arrive from a link, a search or a creator's code, your browser remembers it and sends it with your order. It tells us which posts and partners are worth our time. It isn't sent anywhere until you order.
How we use website analytics
We want this website to be as easy to use as possible, and the only way to know where it's getting in the way is to look at how it's used. That's what our analytics are for. It really helps us, and it's never used to sell anything to you or to anyone else.
- Everyone is counted without cookies. We count visits, the pages people look at, where they came from and where they click, so we can see which pages work and where people get stuck. Nothing is stored on your device for this, and we can't tell who you are from it.
- With your OK, we go a step further. If you tap "That's fine" on the cookie message, we use cookies so we can watch recordings of how the site is used and see heatmaps of where people click. That's how we spot a button nobody can find or a step that confuses people. Anything you type, your basket, your order page and your photos are hidden from these recordings.
- If you say no thanks, nothing changes for you and only the cookie-free counting happens.
We use PostHog for this, with your data held in the EU, and Cloudflare for simple visit counts, which uses no cookies.
Cookies and what your browser stores
Alongside the analytics cookies above (only with your OK), the site keeps a few small things in your browser so it works properly:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your basket | So your items are still there when you come back. |
| Your stub in progress | So a half-made stub isn't lost if you leave the page. |
| Your order, for a moment | So the confirmation page can show what you bought after you pay. Cleared straight away. |
| Where you came from | Sent with your order, as above. |
| Your choices | Whether you've answered the cookie message or seen the discount offer, so we don't keep asking. |
| Analytics cookies (PostHog) | Only if you've said "That's fine". Recordings and heatmaps, as above. |
Who else handles your details
We never sell your details. A few trusted companies help us run the business and only use your details to do that job for us:
- Stripe: takes your payment.
- Render: hosts this website and keeps our order records.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Fastmail: our email inbox.
- Royal Mail: delivers your order, so they get your name and address.
- PostHog and Cloudflare: website analytics, as above.
Some of these companies hold data outside the UK, for example in the US or the EU. Where they do, they use the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
- Orders: six years, because UK tax rules say we must keep business records. Then we delete them.
- Our email list: until you unsubscribe.
- Anything you send us: as long as we need it to help you.
- Analytics: up to a year.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete them, or object to how we use them. Just email hello@matchdaystubs.co.uk. Some order records we have to keep for tax, and we'll tell you if that applies.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we use your details, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
